Guest Chef: Linda Reid

Who's ready for some football?! OH WAIT! That's on Sunday. Now that I have your attention....

Linda Reid
Who's ready for the first Guest Chef of the semester?! We are! And we're ready to introduce one of our very own: Linda Reid, UW-Whitewater Associate Professor: Finance and; Business Law; Water Business Program Director-College of Business and; Economics; Sustainability Fellow and Sustainability Council Co-Chair.

Here's the rest of her bio:

How many years at UW-W: Nine years beginning in Fall 2011.

Home Town: Waukesha, Wisconsin; I also lived in Fayetteville, Arkansas for 11 years.

Favorite music: Mostly indie and folk rock; also Irish, Broadway tunes, classical and alt rock. Really, anything but country.

Favorite movie: Too many to mention. I love Netflix online!

Favorite book: I especially like historical fiction (Morgan Llywelyn; Leon Uris), authors Roddy Doyle, Nuala O'Faolain, and poetry by Dylan Tomas and W.B. Yeats.

Favorite foods: Fresh seafood, cheese, bread and foods that 8-year-olds like: mac & cheese, fish sticks, hot dogs, Captain Crunch with Crunch Berries, and chocolate chip pancakes.

Family: My son, Cale, and my partner, John.

Have a special talent that would surprise someone? Certainly not cooking! I ride a motorcycle, does that count?

Have you ever met someone who is famous? I had dinner with Yanni; met Seal and had dinner with his band; hung out with Paddy Casey after a concert (and he phoned my son, which was cool); ran into Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová (Once, The Frames, The Swell Season) in a shop in Dublin; hung out with Johnny Van Zant and the band (Lynyrd Skynyrd) before one of their concerts.

Pets?: Aoife, a Wheaten Terrier and Olivia, a Whippet.

Why do you like UW-W?: Many fabulous people work and learn here; they’re inspiring!
